The first step
is to get approximatively 5 to 6 meters of telephonic
cable. I used 100 pairs of 0.6mm of copper wire, pvc
insulated. Price is approximatively 60 euros (or 60 US$) La première étape est de se procurer le câble téléphonique. J'ai choisi du 100 paires de 0.6mm en cuivre isolé au PVC. Le prix total est de +/- 60 euros. |

Second step is
to buy PV tubes and angles from the hardware shop at the
corner. Buy also cleaning product for the PVC and special
glue. Depending on the lenght of cable you have, calculate the overall circumference of the loop, and cut the PVC pipe. Assemble everything on the ground to check the final size. Once you are sure of the dimensions, start to place the cable inside the PVC tube and glue the different parts together. Clean the excess of glue. maintain for one minute and proceed to the next junction. Budget is approx 25 euros or US$ (27/6/02) |

La deuxième
étape est d'acheter tous les composants PVC dans la
grande surface du coin. Ne pas oublier les coudes, les
supports lyre, la colle et le produit de nettoyage pour
PVC. Le coût se situe aux alentours de 25 euros.
Assemblez d'abord les tubes pour voir comment cela se présente puis passez le câble et collez. Nettoyez l'excès de colle. |

I used a
terminal box to terminate the two ends of the
cable. J'ai utilisé une boîte à borne vide comme point de liaison des tubes PVC.

Remove the outer
sheath of the cable and plunge in the nightmare. You have
to solder together the end of the wire number one with
the begining of the wire number two ... up to 199. I kept
one turn of wire as calibration loop. Enlever l'isolant du câble sur 30cm et plongez dans l'horreur. Il va falloir souder l'extrémité du fil 1 avec le départ du 2, et ainsi de suite jusqu'à 199. J'ai gardé une spire pour faire le calibrage. |

Every 25 turns,
I solder one wire to enable me to switch between
25/50/75/100...200 turns loop. Tous les 25 tours, j'ai
soudé un fil afin de pouvoir réaliser des couplages par
série de 25 tours. To keep in mind the rank of the wire, try to solder a wire of teh colour following the resistance code (1=brown, 2=red, 3=orange ...) this is more easy at the end to find you way in this spaghetti box. Pour garder en tête le numéro des fils correspondant à chaque série de 25 tours, j'ai sorti un fil brun pour le 1, un fil rouge pour le 2 et ainsi de suite comme pour la valeur de résistances. |

I also protected
with tape, every 25 turns, each soldered connection and
all the wires. Chaque soudure a été protégée avec un bout d'isolant. toutes les 25 spires j'ai réuni en une botte tous les fils et passé de l'isolant. Believe me or not, but during 15 days you will solder wires, even during your sleep ! Croyez moi ou pas, pendant 15 jours vous allez souder des fils, même pendant votre sommeil. Mais quand ce sera fini, wouaaah vous aurez une antenne cadre de près de 800m de fil. J'ai monté le tout sur un support en bois en forme de H avec les supports lyre. J'ai peint le tout pour éviter de chatouiller la méfiance des voisins. |

As one can see, the loop is
mounted on a wood support with a H shape. I fixed the PVC
pipe with support having a LYRA shape. I painted the PVC pipe in black to avoid problem with people in the vicinity of my antenna field :o)
